On another topic, is there a way to keep my surface dial from going into standby after 10 minutes? It drives me crazy when I grab it and it doesn't respond right away. I don't mind it going through a few more batteries.

I read on the windows forum that there is a setting in the surface dial itself that puts it into standby or sleep mode after ten minutes of inactivity. If I don't use the dial for 10 minutes, then I have to jiggle it to wake it and wait like 20 seconds for it to wake and reconnect to Bluetooth.

Just wondering if there could be some way that elephant could send a query or something every 9 minutes to keep it active? That would be so great. So basically, it would never go to sleep while elephant is active.

The slow wake times keep me from using my surface dial as much as I would if it were just always awake and ready to go.

I test absolutely all and no way to doit, only from firmware update that be possible. The dial go to a mode is like hibernation, is like turn off the little OS inside. The dial need wake up near form 0 and that make take around 2 seconds.
The only trick, is when you stop to use for some time, is just click one time, and wait.  The BT LE chip vendor provide some info about how work and there is clear information about there is no way to wake up from RF.  Only MS can fix this, I suggest contact to MS support and push for a fix.

Ok Thanks. I figured it may be something like that. I have already contacted MS about this along with others. I hope MS get that sorted as it is really inconvenient.
