Hi,

today I bought the software. Thank you for this great application!

Do I need a permanent internet connection to be able to use the already activated software without restrictions?

I have elephant on autostart. Everytime it starts, I have to click the pink elephant on black. That's a bit annoying. Sometimes it exits itself and I have to click the icon, too. Thank you Klampfenfreak

Hello!!
No, nobody needs permanent internet connection for sur ethe software.
Already activate the software.
You need internet only for activation.

About the initialization is how is, and that is not possible to change for now.
This is a hack over what surface dial do and the poor Microsoft implementation.
Anyway, every sometimes I check again all about what user report as a "annoying" I put this on my list of things to recheck and try improve.

Hi, thank you for this information!

Unfortunately my Surface Dial died yesterday after connecting with a new 5.1 Bluetooth dongle. The Dial LED isn't blinking anymore and no pairing is possible.

Read about that problem on a few Microsoft help forums, where even new Dials out of the box does nothing anymore after connecting. I just bought a new (used) one and avoid the new Bluetooth dongle and stay with the old low range 4.0 device.

Any  reports about this?

Best

Hello.
No, you are the first here in the forum to report a thing like this, i not remember any case like this.
We see some cases where the dangle cause problems, but not a die surface dial.

Already try using that dongle with your phone or other BT device?
If dongle works ok then yes, the problem is the dial.

The dongle works. I have received the new Dial and tested it again. But I stay with the older Bluetooth 4.0 Dongle, because the range of the new one is ridiculous short. I don't know why the old Dial stopped working and never become alife again.

Some trouble: Sometimes the Elephant Software stops working properly. Double clicking shows the menu, but no curser or mouse action is possible, scrolling is working correctly. It is not a configuration issue. I have test it also in a text editor.

Sometimes the Mouse pointer remains invisible, too and I have to restart Elephant. I am using Windows 10.
