It would be a great feature if it was possible for Buttons to send the Buttoname with a Sysex-String....
Example for Cantabile:
You can have many states in each cantabile Song or many Instruments (also 'states')
If i have a side in my controller with scriptable buttons it would be possible to send the names directly to the buttons
this would give a great flexibility.
So I would call a specific song in Cantabile and the Buttons show me the States :Intro,Verse1,Verse2,Solo........Ending
and also Buttons on the same side I could link to Song specific Instruments: Organ,Strings.......to switch parts....
Please,please,please.....

Before to move to Sysex, OSC will be supported first.
Cantabile wont support OSC?

no cantabile does not support it... (at the moment)
Dont't know what OSC makes better than MIDI ?

Thanks I noticed this but does It realy change my working system to a higher level ??
Timing works.... rest also ....sending over Network>>RTP Midi --- so fo me and my setup OSC makes no sense

@juergen Just curious, I don't have experience with Cantabile, however "OSC Bling for Cantabile" may be your gateway to the wonderful world of OSC, actually the combination of both Midi/OSC will open a whole new world especially LIVE performers that send OSC data from a DAW to Real Time Visual software (Notch/TouchDesigner/Resolume and so on...) Ex: you can map track automation to practically anything internal/external that can receive OSC.

I think ... that I can't have a say because I've never used OSC.
This is purely because my hardware communicates via MIDI ...and also I can do all that I need with MIDI.
And also my fingers could not work as fast than MIDI works so I can not see the sense for a touch controller ????? (<<<in my case)

One thing is very usefull for me at the moment with OSC .....it is possible to send bigger values like a 14bit Controller (with Midi I need two controllers to send a fine Value)
