I cannot see any difference. Is there one? Also, I am trying too build a Pioneer Rekordbox touch screen template. Is there a work around to have the platter send a note on message upon touch and a note off on release? I tried overlaying a round button but, it blocks the platter.

3 State DJ Plate
The 3 State DJ Plate is a special encoder which sends three MIDI events, and similar to the Halo Pad it uses consecutive MIDI values.

Event 1: when you touch the platter, MIDI “ON” value is sent (value 127).
Event 2: when you turn the platter, MIDI event 0 to 127 or 7fh/01h encoder signal is sent.
Event 3: when platter stops turning, MIDI “OFF” value is sent (value 0).

Example
1. If you assign a MIDI  value (number) of 1,  the 3 State DJ Plate automatically use MIDI values 1 and 2.
2. If you assign a MIDI  value (number)  99, the 3 State DJ Plate, automatically use MIDI values 99 and 100.

If you assign a MIDI  number  127 to the 3 State DJ plate, it will automatically try using number 127 and 128. Since the range of MIDI is 0 to 127,
the MIDI value would be outside the valid range, and the plate will not send any MIDI signals.

Thank you, that makes more sense now.

However when I tuch I am getting a midi cc with a value of 127. When I release I am getting the same message. Turning the platter does go up one CC. the value either either goes up or down. or. I can set it to a specific value each way. Should it be sending a 0 value on release? I can use midi translator to turn those into notes if I can get them to have a different value. Then I may be able to build this template.

You are right, I check the code and see there is a bug on the software, send 127 on release when should be 0.
I back with more info soon.

Great! Is there any chance you can make it possible to send a note on and note off message as opposed to a midi cc message upon touch and release?

Delays delays and more delays, but finally the website is moved.
Finishing some details and preparing the compilation and the installer for release a version only include your fix. I release that version tomorrow.
I inform to you when the software is ready.  For sure I also work in fix the ugly font forum show right now, but that happen after I release the new version.
