[Solved] Chameleon version 1.5.1 and Bome MIDI driver

Chameleon version 1.5.1 release note states "Uninstall Bome MIDI driver before install this version".

Does anybody know if that means Chameleon and Bome Midi can not co-exist?

Can coexist, just uninstall remove older MIDI port structure used by chameleon.
When you reinstall Chameleon is installed again.
Instructions said, before install just uninstall.

Again, I talking of Bome midi virtual driver not any other  Bome software.

Problem! When I try to uninstall "Borne Virtual MIDI Driver", I get the following error message:

'Messages file "C\ProgramData\Borne Software\Borne Virtual MIDI\unins000.msg" is missing. Please correct the problem or obtain a new copy of the program.'

So the program will not uninstall.

I am running latest version of Windows 10.

Please advise what I should do?

That is ok, you just can install chameleon and then remove manually the unused ports form system devices config area of windows.
Is ok.

Or more, easy,  instakll new version chameleon, reboot. Uninstall bome, then reinstall again  new version, and that is the same.

Okay I followed you suggested procedure:

1. I installed new version of Chameleon

2. I uninstalled Bome.

3. I installed new version of Chameleon again.

4. So now I have Chameleon and Bome installed.

5.  I double click Chameleon to start app.

6. I okay the message 'Do you want to allow this app to make changes ..."

7. But Chameleon does not load!

8. I had a look in the Windows Device Manager and I do not see any driver entries for Bome.

Have you suggestion to fix the problem please.

Not really.
Maybe we can schedule a remote access trough teamviewer for tomorrow.

Tellme what happens.

I ran the license manager and the software was not activated.

So I activated the software.

Now Chameleon loads but I get some different screens.

Image 'chameleon1' is the first screen I get when I start programme.

If I press the ESC key then I get the editor screen shown in image 'chameleon2'

Notice that there is no tick box to import templates from the old version.

If I select 'Main Menu' then I get back to 'chameleon1' screen.

I hope this helps to diagnose what is wrong.

I made some progress.

I discovered that the 'Select to import from older version' box does not appear until you select and old template.

So now I have been able to import an old template and save with a new name.

Two remaining issues:

1. If I select the global 'Disable Escape Key' then I cannot find any way to make the Editor appear.  I tried right clicking with the mouse but this does not make the Editor screen appear.

2. If I select the 'Main Menu' from the Editor, then only the small 'INFO' box appears.

Can you help with these two issues please.

The first trouble happens duet you are updating form a very older version, not following older instructions for update to a newer version, but is ok, now is fixed that.

1. If I select the global 'Disable Escape Key' then I cannot find any way to make the Editor appear.  I tried right clicking with the mouse but this does not make the Editor screen appear.
As always, use right click of the mouse over the software if you wnat open the editor.
Anyway, after you put in focus any other software the escape key not work n matter you touch the software with touchscreen so maybe you no need disable the escape never ever again.

2. If I select the 'Main Menu' from the Editor, then only the small 'INFO' box appears.
For some reason I dont know......all looks if you are downloading a incorrect version cached on the browser of your computer or cloudflare, but I already clear cloudflare.
Clean the cache of your browser, or if you download form chrome, open edge and download again from edge browser or viceversa.

If this trouble continue, i need access to your computer.
