It would be far better if you could click the screen to lock the dial to the control until clicked again, especially if you could use the dial and the mouse at the same time....

Click to select control (dial now stays with that control until something else clicked) or a clear command is entered (not sure if that is needed needed, but it could be a click on  the menu bar)

Researching now on lock mode. I can't guaranteed good results......we see soon.

I divide the Elephant use in 4 ways:
Desktop/laptop studio mouse mode: working right now to check how can improve this.
Desktop/laptop studio MIDI mode: how work now is ok, just need a simple improvement for remove one step when choose MIDI CC.
Live performance MIDI mode: how work now is ok, just need a simple improvement for remove one step when choose MIDI CC.
Live performance touch screen direct access mode: in research right now .

Great night coding and listening some nice music !
What is improved now:
New mode born, I name this the DIRECT mode.
When this mode is enabled just hover the mouse over object you want control and turn the dial.
The dial is now locked to the object under control, and you can release just making a click on the dial.
Under this mode, access to the Elephant menu, require double click the dial.
This mode is ultra useful with mouse pad on laptop and with touch-screen also, oh yes, just touch the object to be controlled and just turn the dial.
In the process I detected a bug on Bitwig, what for sure I report soon and strange behavior with VCV rack, what I try to debug or contact to Andrew. Anyway new mode work like a charm, need to test deeply in order to re-confirm all is ok.

Works like a charm. Love it!

But just now I got to think of a way to skip to have to change the direction to be able to affect horizontal and vertical sliders.
What if you made the dial to move the mouse diagonally down/left and up/right when you move the dial. That would make every knob and slider work without having to change direction in the dial menu. Maybe add it as an option?

Is a option, but is a patch solution. I already test that solution before launch 1.3 and really not like how work duet reduce the resolutuion. Need polish the code to see if can make work better. If can make work ok, I release that feature as a option in version in 1.4. Anyway I work right now in a optional better, perfect and real solution. More info soon.

I so dumb some times, after your comment I decide take a look again in the code after nice weekend of relax.
I know now why this mode work wrong, I made a mistake in the code lol.
Done!!! feature added, I release soon, just need fix drag in place mode.
This is why is important interact in the forum Smile
Again, a optional extender module see the light soon, is  DIY project, and is the real full solution, but for users no want invest time and money on some cheap hardware parts needed, this solution work for they.

Congrats Masarin!
